NUSAJAYA: Some half a million visitors are expected to pass through the gates of the new Puteri Harbour Indoor Theme Park in its first year of operation.
The RM115mil four-storey indoor theme park, which will be launched early next year, opened its doors to visitors last Friday, offering seven rides including a train, windmill, helicopter and bumper car for both children and adults.
The theme park also has a floor dedicated to the first Sanrio Hello Kitty Town in the world outside of Japan, where visitors will get a chance to see the cat character’s house complete with furniture and take part in the Black Wonder puzzle maze game.
Visitors will also get to meet life-sized mascots of HIT Entertainment’s The Little Big Club lovable characters like Bob the Builder, Barney, Angelina Ballerina and Thomas and Friends.
“This is also the first theme park in the world that incorporates the five popular characters in a single theme park,” says Themed Attractions and Resorts Sdn Bhd managing director and chief executive officer Tunku Datuk Ahmad Burhanuddin.
He said that during their first opening weekend, there were about 2,500 visitors and the number was expected to rise over the school holidays.
When asked whether the nearby Legoland Malaysia Theme Park would pose a competition to the Puteri Harbour Theme Park, Ahmad said they complemented each other.
“Both theme parks have different concepts. One is an outdoor park and the other is indoor,” he said.
